Product Details
Frida Kahlo represents many things, all profound and necessary but for me she stands for 'freedom' above all. That unibrow shattered stereotypes way before stereotype was a popular term. That was Frida, fiercely convinced that beauty comes in many forms and to typecast it into one definition is not just wrong, but a loss to this planet. Everyone must be free to express themselves and be accepted for that.
This collection, when conceptualized, was to be an extension of our last year's theme 'Garden of Eden' with co-existence being the center thought, but when I saw the powerful image of Frida Kahlo painted for this collection, I was inspired to make it the title design of the series. Freedom leads to expression and eventually to acceptance and only then can we all co-exist.
The two elements were not too far. So, presenting our new art collection for textiles, 'Freedom of Frida' that stands for everything we need today more than ever. Freedom of thought and expression. Acceptance and love. So, we can co-exist in harmony. All of us!
It's fantastic that the launch is coinciding with Women's Day! It was not intended but meant to be.
